AKIYO & MADZINE - Utsuro-Bune (performance)
Thursday May 15, 2025 at 7 PM
Utsuro-Bune (The Hollow Boat) draws inspiration from a mysterious legend passed down since the Edo period. According to the tale, a disk-shaped metallic boat drifted ashore, carrying a woman dressed in unfamiliar clothing. She spoke an incomprehensible language and held a box said to contain a man’s severed head. This story has sparked countless interpretations—was she a visitor from a foreign land, a being from another realm, or perhaps a punished noble cast adrift at sea?

Berna Ay - The Weather I Wake Up To Is No Longer the Same (exhibition)
Sunday May 18, 2025, 2-10 PM
Berna Ay’s artistic practice explores the intricate relationship between human beings and their environment, particularly focusing on the psychological and physical effects of climate change on human health. Her work is characterised by a minimalist approach and a carefree style, often depicting figures interacting with elements of nature. Recurring motifs include characters with plants—such as trees or cabbages—growing from their heads, eyes, or mouths, symbolising the allergic reactions triggered by environmental factors. One notable piece, titled “Kimchi Human” represents the artist’s reflection on how climate change induces eco-anxiety and allergies.

RADIO WHALES the Return - performance by Timothée Nay and Léa Kieffer with Jamika Ajalon
Thursday May 29, 2025 at 7 PM
Expect sexy songs, funny dances and weird marine mammals screams, deep vibrations and good hydration.
What if the passing barges and ships on the Rivers were mechanical whales, swimming in the soft waters of the rivers that flow into the Sea? What if they could capture the electric vibrations of the songs and stories of the environments through their metallic skin? What if Whales were actually leaving the rivers at night and sneaking in the clubs, making encounters with the humans?
Get on the water and closer to the carcass of the boat, open your sensors and let‘s tune in Radio whales! – a device to tune with the current ecological emergencies through the figure and the sounds of the underwater mammals, meeting our need for interspecies connections.

Heather Green - ALLEIN (performance)
Friday July 18, 2025 at 7 PM & & Sunday 20, 2025 at 4 PM
ALLEIN is a solo vocal imagining of Richard Strauss' Elektra, in which characters emerge as ghost personas from within one tormented Psyche, alone in the remnants of childhood ruins.
ALLEIN is performed and conceived by opera singer and multi-disciplinary artist Heather Green, with composer/artist Tomas Nordmark channeling Strauss' classic score into a darkly modern sonic world situated in the shadows between the electronic and the acoustic space.

Old Cock (theatre performance in English by mala voadora)
Friday & Saturday August 1 & 2, 2025 at 7 pm
The “Barcelos Rooster” is Portugal’s most popular souvenir, sold as a knick-knack, key ring, fridge magnet, postcard… In Cantar de Galo, he comes to life. Haughty, he tells us his story: he saved a pilgrim wrongly accused of a crime from the gallows. But he’s not satisfied, he demands explanations and Salazar, the dictator who kept Portugal in the grip of fascism for 40 years, comes to the rescue. This is how the rooster learns that, after all, he is part of the manipulative nationalist fiction that Salazar invented. The Rooster recovers his vocation as a vigilante and sets out to take revenge on the populist Salazar. Cantar de Galo is a play written for Jorge Andrade by the American writer Robert Schenkkan, winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the Tony Award.
